White to Gray

An original piece by local playwright Rob Maesaka, White to Gray tells the story of the struggle between love and loyalty between the wealthy young American and the Japanese American woman he loves when Pearl Harbor is bombed. The majority of the play takes place on the cruise ship the Lurline, which was the historical last cruise leaving Hawaii before the attack. Directed by the wonderful Deanna Jent, White to Gray is performed at the Mustard Seed Theatre and is cast and crewed by a host of very talented and amazing professionals, including yours truly as the fetching heroine Sumiko Yoshida.
