In America, we find ourselves being swept away by crisis. From the rights of bodily autonomy being systematically swept away to the hate-mongering toward ethnic minorities, the lgbtqia community, and beyond, it is a slap in the face of everything we were taught made us proud to be American: being a melting pot, land of opportunity for all, and place where our unique differences were celebrated.

 

We are strong, however. We may have to pick up the pieces against what seem like insurmountable odds, but we will stand for what is right. In a country governed by fundamentally broken systems, we will find a way to fight, to speak out, to rise up.
